Bible Verses For Childbirth

Bible verses for labor and delivery will bring comfort during the end of pregnancy and throughout the intensity of any type of birth – natural or medicated birth.

If faith and spirituality is part of a woman’s normal life, it would make sense that it would be an important part of birth as well. Pregnancy and labor will bring joy. wonder. fear. anticipation.

Here are some Verses I used through my five deliveries:

2 Chronicles 15:7 “Be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” (NIV)

Psalm 23:1-4 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” (ESV)

Psalm 46:1-3 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.” (ESV)

Psalm 55:22 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (ESV)

Psalm 56:3 “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” (NIV)

Psalm 61:2 “When my heart is faint, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” (ESV)

“Do not be far from me, my God; come quickly, God to help me.” Psalm 71:12

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1

“He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.” Isaiah 40:29
